While we were having lunch in Sidney, we noticed a constant stream of people entering the shop beside us and leaving with little brown bags. People geared up for serious biking, seniors, teens, moms and strollers, dog walkers – the full range of humanity was stopping in there. Given the size of the bags, we thought it must be a bakery, so decided to check it out after lunch. WOW. There were more types of goodies than you could nosh your way through in a month, even if you ate a different one every day! After much pondering, I decided on the Copenhagen, which turned out to be buttery, flakey thin sheets of pastry with marzipan innards and topped with almond icing and toasted almonds. This…THIS is the song of my people! So delicious!!
