These orange buns are my favourite sweet dough bun. The aroma of orange they exude is very pleasurable. They are delicious warm with butter or raspberry jam, but are also nice cold with a slice of mild gouda, or as the base for a ham sandwich. The recipe below is tailored to a bread machine, but you can make it the original way by using quick yeast, mixing and kneading the dough, and letting it rise an hour before forming the buns.
Orange Buns
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup orange juice
1 egg
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 Tblsp. butter
4 cups bread flour
2 tsp. orange zest
1 1/4 tsp. bread machine yeast
1. Measure ingredients into bread machine tin in order given. Prepare using Dough Cycle.
2. Buns: Form into buns and let rise for an hour in a warm place. Bake at 375 F on a lightly greased baking sheet (or parchment) for 15-20 minutes.

Those are beautiful and I can imagine the flavor from here. I will send this to my sister who has an orange tree. Not that it uses that much orange juice but I think she will appreciate it. ~Ginene
