It must be August because my favourite fruit is in season. Peaches! Is there anything that smells better than a perfectly ripe peach? I think not. We are lucky to get fruit trucks from the Okanogan Valley arriving weekly now, with a bounty of fresh delights. A feast for the nose, eyes and taste buds.
And… just to make a good day great, I picked up a bouquet of gladiolus. The best of summer in my kitchen!

That second photo looks like a painting. It’s beautiful 🙂 Do you bake anything with your peaches? Or do you just enjoy them as is?

Mostly we just eat them fresh, but I usually do either a pie or a crisp before they are finished for the season. I freeze some as well for a winter echo of the summer pleasure.

Yum! I love peach pie and peach crumble. Great idea to freeze some. I’ll buy a pile at the farmer’s market next week and do that.

Thank you for your comment about the photo. I almost didn’t include it because the background was out of focus, but I decided it didn’t matter in the end.

You’re welcome. That would have been a shame had you cut it!
