Butterscotch Dip

This butterscotch sauce is a no-fuss alternative to making caramel as you add everything at the same time. It makes a lovely dip for sliced apples, a sauce for an ice cream sundae or banana split, or a topping for apple pie or apple crisp. You can use it to sweeten coffee as well.

1 cup brown sugar
4 Tbsp. butter
1/2 cup whipping cream
a large pinch of salt

Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and stir together. Heat on stove top, stirring occasionally until everything is combined. Bring to a boil and hold at a rolling boil for 2-3 minutes. (See photo below). Remove from heat and let sit until cool enough to pour into a jar. Store in the fridge. I am not sure how long at lasts in the fridge because ours disappears before we can test that, lol.
