I have had great luck with my amaryllis plants this year. The red one below started blooming on Christmas day and made 10 large beautiful blooms! It really outdid itself – so much so, I ended up cutting the flowers to put in water as my staking was insufficient.
Those blooms lasted until my pink amaryllis started blooming. The pink one is still going strong and will hopefully last until the tulips I have been forcing in the garage begin to bloom.
I have brought in a few of the tulip pots and will bring in another pot every weekend or two to keep things blooming until spring.
Beautiful! My father always grew amaryllis plants throughout the winter while I was growing up! I definitely have some nostalgia for them 🙂
