The rose syrup was an experiment for me. I have used rose water (which is highly concentrated) before, but I’ve never made the syrup. Although the syrup was initially very fragrant, the aroma faded over a couple days. I can’t say I can taste the rose in this drink, but it changes the flavour of the watermelon to something a bit more exotic that you can’t quite put a finger on.
Rose Syrup
petals from 1 rose
1 cup sugar
1 1/3 cup water
Bring to a boil. Simmer for 1 minute. Cover, and let stand for 20 minutes.
Watermelon Rose Sipper
1/2 a small watermelon, cubed
1/4 cup rose syrup
Blend until smooth. Strain into glasses.
looks and sounds delicious

No, sorry, I never post recipes. These cookies are called courambeethes, it’s a Greek word and I don’t know how to write it in English:)
