We have a rather unremarkable shrub in our front flower garden that I had not yet identified. This last week, however, it distinguished itself by producing masses of white buds all over last year’s growth. A few are starting to open, and they have a heady fragrance indeed. Much more interested in the shrub and armed with those two new clues as to its identity, I enlisted the assistance of Uncle Google, and I am confident in saying we have a Philadelphia snowbelle, or Snowbelle Mockorange, a shrub I had not seen before. Ahh, the thrill of discovery 🙂

this shrub’s fragrance is just so beautiful!
