White Hot Chocolate with Triple Sec

Terry’s White Chocolate Oranges (Snowballs) are a Christmas tradition my youngest looks forward to. Unfortunately none of the shops here are carrying them this year. She is now an adult, so I decided that I would try to imitate those flavours in a warm drink using alcohol to add orange flavour and to cut the sweetness of white chocolate. We rather like it! Woo!

100 g Lindt white chocolate (3.5 oz)
1 1/2 cups milk (I used 1 percent, but I imagine any variety would be grand)
1/2 cup whipping cream
2 oz. Triple Sec

1. Chop the white chocolate finely so it will melt easily.
2. Heat the cream and milk in a pot until steaming well, but not boiling.
3. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the chocolate until it melts.
4. Add the Triple Sec.
Cheers! It made enough for two generous servings.

To rim the mugs with sugar, dip the rim in a shallow saucer of water and then into coarse sugar. Festivity added 🙂
