I like to make mulled apple juice in the slow cooker on Christmas morning. After it has simmered for a couple hours, I remove the spices to prevent them overpowering the apples. It makes the house smell wonderful, and we can return for another cup as wanted throughout the day.
4 litres of apple juice (I use frozen juice from our backyard tree)
1/2 cinnamon stick
1/2 a nutmeg
5 whole cloves
2 whole allspice
1 sliced mandarin orange
