Each season has experiences unique to that time of year. My favourite “summer specials” are
- The smell of newly mown grass, grilled hamburgers, and roses
- Enjoying swapping jackets for dresses, sandals and summer hats
- The sounds of robins splashing in the birdbath, bees in the flowers, and songbirds in the trees
- The breeze coming in open windows
- Clear roads and green leaves
- Enjoying meals outdoors, or just sitting in the garden with a cup of tea
- The popping of pinecones opening, crickets chirping in the evening
- The colourful landscape as flowers take turns coming into season
- The taste of new potatoes, sun-ripened tomatoes and peas in the pod
- Juicy peaches and cherries
- The smell of thunderstorms and summer rain
