This was a tool by Nordic Ware my mom had that I forgot was now in my cupboard. I remembered it in time to use it on this pie I made to share with friends. It worked great! I would definitely use it again.
It is like a large cookie cutter that you can use on pie crust – hearts on one side, lattice on the other.
I chose the hearts for the sour cherry pie.
I sprinkled cinnamon sugar on the hearts and pastry scraps remaining and baked them during the 450 degree portion of the baking. Some added cheer!
