Nothing says summer like a fruit crisp. The blackberries called to me at the farmers market this week, so this is what I decided on. I like mixing fruit in crisps, one tart, one sweet (examples: strawberry/rhubarb, blueberry/raspberry, peach/raspberry etc).
1 basket blackberries
1 basket strawberries, quartered
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
Toss fruit in sugar and flour mixture and pour into greased baking dish.
With your hands, squeeze together
1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
Spread over top of fruit. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 49 minutes, or until bubbling. Serve with strawberry ice cream.
