Last fall I decided to do a small batch of dried, pressed flowers and leaves to use in a craft of some sort to extend my enjoyment of the blooms. I used paper towels to line the pages of a book to press them, but if you do not like the texture they add to the petals, you could simply use tissue paper. Had I known they would end up being coasters, I would have trimmed a bit more off the back sides of the flowers to make them flatter, but I still had enough flat ones to work with.

I bought coasters made of plexiglass held together by two sets of magnets and simply arranged the dried blooms inside. I think these will be fun to refresh with fall leaves and flowers at some point as well, as they are easy to pull apart and change the botanicals. The first flowers I tried were too thick, so the top tilted when setting a cup on the coaster. Coasters with 4 magnet sets they would be more balanced, otherwise very thin flowers are required. Very quick and easy project that adds some flowers to the long winter.
