As I mentioned in an earlier post, my husband’s New Year’s resolution was to learn to cook more things. This is a chili he came up with after looking at a few recipes and seeing what we actually had in the pantry. I think it is a keeper!
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 large onion, diced
1 tin (796 ml) diced tomatoes
1 bottle (330 ml) tomato sauce
3 tsp. garlic, minced
1 tin (540 ml) black beans
8 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp. Tomato paste
Brown the beef. Add the onion and cook until starting to soften. Add the rest and simmer for 30 minutes.
