1000th Post

Well, this is my 1000th blog post on Everyday Cheer. I started blogging in May of 2014 to explore the WordPress platform for use at work. For practice, I chose Everyday Cheer as my focus because lots of simple things in life bring me pleasure; I was raised to look for and embrace joy in the everyday. I thought I could find quite a few things to write about under this title and so I began. My office chose to use another platform, but I discovered a whole new world of interesting people, ideas and images on WordPress and have not wanted to stop!  A huge thank you to everyone who visits my blog! I hope you find some cheer here too. My dad (a Dane) would say “tusind tak” when he was very grateful, which literally means “a thousand thanks”. Fitting here I think.

My very first blog included this quote and I think it is timely at Christmas and everyday:

If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

J. R. R. Tolkien

  1. Well done Debbie! Love your posts, and love what you have done with this blog. Look forward to them every day. They help us all focus on what really is important… finding gratitude and finding the simple pleasures in life…. every day!

  2. Love the quote. After years of exchanging gifts with my best friend and her husband we decided to just enjoy a holiday meal and some cheer together every year from now on. I wish more people would make this decision – especially older folks like us who need for nothing. Friendship is the only gift we need.
Merry Christmas to you and yours. ♥
