I have been enjoying the TV series X Company. The first season is on Netflix and the second is currently showing on CBC TV. You can also stream both seasons on the CBC website. X Company is based on Camp X, the spy training facility in Ontario, Canada set up during WW2.
The production has cast engaging actors whose characters are sent into occupied France to gain intelligence, cause disruption and recruit resistance. I enjoy period dramas, and am particularly enjoying this series because while most WW2 programs concentrate either on soldiers and battles, or life on the home front in the UK, this show focusses on the lives of French citizens behind the lines, and the parts of the war which need to be invisible to be successful. Two thumbs up.
