A very enjoyable part of our holiday was walking part of the Land’s End Trail including the Sutro Baths. The scent of the cypress trees perfumed the trail with a heady combination of pine and honey. Even my husband, who is not known for his olfactory prowess, commented on the wonderful smell. The sea, the cypress and the beautiful views made this little hike memorable. The ruins of the baths themselves are what is left of a massive public bath complex described here. I wish there was a “click to smell” button so I could share the trees with you, but photos will have to do.
