Indoor spring

I have developed the practice of having both an indoor spring and an outdoor spring.

When outdoor spring looks like this…

Indoor spring looks like this!

I am mollified by the beautiful plants that grow indoors or overwinter for earlier starts. I brought my roses in from the garage and they have been blooming in the sunroom. My geraniums have bloomed all winter in the house and I will move them to bigger pots and fresh soil when I put them back outside in May. I forced crocus and tulips as it is fun to watch the shoots get taller and finally produce blooms. My Christmas cacti decided to put on another show at Easter, and my orchid and hoya plants have started blooming again, so I am getting my flower fix and a good shot of colour. Even my succulents are blooming.

I brought my hydrangea in two weeks ago and it is starting to show some green, as are the begonias from last year. i got some dahlia tubers for my birthday and they are sprouting promising growth.

Spring arrives when it will!
