I make some sort of paper ornament each year and these stars caught my eye this year. They can make pretty ornaments any time of the year, depending on the pattern of the paper you use. I used 12 inch squares, but you can use any size as long as it is square. I used a glue gun for quick drying time.

Fold a square piece of paper in half to form a triange
Unfold the triangle and fold sides to middle fold line
Fold remaining paper up to make corners with the previously folded parts
Fold bottom points up on each side
Open the last folds and glue the corresponding triangles below so the flaps will stick
Hold until glue sets
Lift the glued section so the inside looks as above and then flatten it
It will look like this. Make 4 more of these.
Apply glue to the section highlighted above (you will feel the internal triangle folds) and place the next piece on top, making sure the folded edges are on the same side. Repeat with the remaining pieces.

Once the glue is dry, open up the star, attach the two unglued edges with a clip, add a string to the clip and hang. (The clip can be removed and the star returned to a flat stage for storage to be used next year.)
