Geranium Seeding Update

I decided to try growing geraniums from seed this year and thought some of you might be interested as well. Below is a photo of my seed plan for this year, which I use to remember when I want to start particular plants from January to May. My first starts were Maverick Star and Bullseye geraniums. I had plant withdrawal after Christmas so I started them in January instead of the planned March. No regrets haha.

February 6th
March 13
April 4
May 7 -some of them are potted up, pinched back and waiting for the days to warm up so they can go outside. The pink one is from a cutting from last year’s plant. The seedlings are not yet blooming. I did not transplant all of them into pots as I will be putting several of them in the ground and didn’t have space to up-pot them all. (The row closest to the window are my dahlia tubers from last year, going strong again this year )

Summary: I would definitely start them from seed again! Very easy to grow and such fun to have little plants going earlier in the winter.
