Our weather warmed up and we decided a little delicious fun was required Saturday morning. We started at the Calgary Farmer’s Market and The Italian Store (I need to do a blog on this shop!) to get some groceries. We wanted to pick up a couple of gifts, so headed to 17th Avenue and had to stop at The Black Sheep to get a Chocolat Viennois (hot chocolate made with chocolate ganache, orange zest and whipped cream) and a Pear and Vanilla Croissant for breakfast. Delicious! It was warm enough to eat it on the bistro seats in front of the patisserie. What a change from the -40C temperatures earlier this month.

The next stop was Ollia, which has lovely teas and macarons. We had to pick up a couple for our tea later (rose, and chocolate raspberry) to make sure standards hadn’t slipped….they hadn’t.

Final stop was Reid’s stationery store which had a Valentine theme window display. Might have mistaken it for the macaron shop! They have such a good selection of pens and stationery. We also picked up a selection of Jacek chocolates. They are made in Edmonton and have original, delicious fillings.
