“The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper” by Phaedra Patrick is a story about a widower who finds a mysterious charm bracelet hidden in his wife’s possessions after her death. Trying to unravel the secrets behind the charms on the bracelet, Arthur embarks on a series of adventures where he learns things about his wife’s life as a single woman, and more importantly, he learns things about himself. From England to India and Paris, Arthur’s adventures proved to be a great summer read for me.
