People appreciate a nonalcoholic beverage for many reasons: being the designated driver, being pregnant, being on medications that contraindicate alcohol, or simply that they aren’t drinking now or at all. Recently, we have been enjoying Seedlip non-alcoholic spirits (“Garden” flavour), which could be compared to the botanical aroma and taste you might find in certain gins, though it is not made with juniper. The basic cocktail is mixed with tonic water and a slice of lime at a 1:3 ratio. We have found this to be a very pleasant warm weather drink. You can, of course, invent any number of cocktails using this as a base. Here is the link to their suggestions. Non-alcoholic spirits are a pleasant alternative (and calorie-free option) to serving Coke or Sprite to the teetotalers in your party. I’m looking forward to trying the other two flavours!
