Because my family knows I like to cook, and because they like eating the food I prepare, it is not uncommon for them to give me cookbooks as gifts. Most of them contain at least a few recipes I am excited to try. A few special ones, however, have a giant list of dishes I want to make, and are the sort of visually stunning books that make me enjoy curling up with a cup of tea and spend an hour looking through them like picture books. I love the ones that create a mood, or highlight a certain area of the world with beautiful images, as well as containing attractive photos of food.
