Silver Wedding Anniversary

Today my husband and I celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Lots has happened in the years since our wedding: university graduation, moving across the country, the births of two beautiful daughters, the loss of 3 parents, different jobs, better and worse, sickness and health, richer and poorer, loving and cherishing, and many days of simple pleasures and time spent together.

Here is an excerpt of the blessing we received during our marriage ceremony:

“Let their love for each other be a seal upon their hearts, a mantle about their shoulders, and a crown upon their foreheads. Bless them in their work and in their companionship; in their sleeping and in their waking; in their joys and in their sorrows; in their life and in their death.”

Twenty-five years later I still think it is a beautiful way to look at the relationship.
