Getting a new cat toy is enjoyable for me as well as for the cats. Watching them figure out something new is fun. This is a toy that you can load treats into, but because it is not completely hollow, like the ones for dogs, the cat needs to both tip and rotate the toy to free the treat.
A few years ago we tried the treat-dispensing toy meant for small dogs (hollow). I had to laugh as Thomas gave it a good look, a couple of bats, and then grabbed it with both paws and shook the treats out in one go. Cats require a little more engineering for a proper challenge. This toy kept him entertained for quite a while.
