Each year, some talented gardeners in Okotoks put their gardens on display in the Big Rock Garden Tour. A number of garden types were showcased this year – xeriscape, indigenous flowers, deer-proof(!), and other beautiful combinations of landscaping, flower beds and vegetable patches. Here is a selection of photos from the tour.

Those are all stunning! Did you get lots of ideas for your own garden?

So many ideas! One lady planted her strawberries amongst low growing red flowers to hide the fruit from birds. It looks great and she has a great crop.
I also liked how some people used old doors and windows and other inorganic elements to highlight certain areas, and used large pots to create vertical layering.
The best part was talking to the gardeners themselves. Their passion was contagious!.
