One of my favourite sights at Stampede Park is that of my husband coming towards me with a couple bags of little donuts dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Whoop!
This year I enjoyed watching people make flower-shaped cotton candy. There are some creative people in the world!
The R2D2 cake was displayed in the Western Showcase. There were some fantastic artists there. I did not photograph any paintings or photos, but check out this site for Scott Dimond’s photography. I think his work is fantastic.
We had a great time touring the barns as well. I love sheep, so here is one of those for good measure.

J > I’m not a city person at all, but I’d love to go to Calgary, visit the ‘Stampede’, see the sights … and then head west along the Trans-Canada Highway to Banff – and then beyond.

Those places are beautiful and worth visits for sure, but if you want a mountain experience with fewer people, try the hikes in Kananaskis or Waterton Lakes!
